For pricing purposes, we divide the Holy Days into the following “services”:
Rosh Hashana Eve, Rosh Hashana Day,
Yom Kippur Eve, and Yom Kippur Day.

B’nai Horin Members: $90 each

Fees for Child Care
Child Care requires ADVANCE REGISTRATION. Rosh Hashana child care is closed. If you want to register your children/youth for Yom Kippur, you must do it by Sunday, Sept 20th at 9 pm. NO CHILDREN ARE ADDED TO THE PROGRAM ON SITE.

Rosh Hashana EVE & DAY and Yom Kippur EVE: $27 each per child
Yom Kippur DAY: $36 each per child
All 4 services: $108 per child
Fees for Meals & Lodging
CLOSED. REQUIRED ADVANCE REGISTRATION.
We hope you will chose to dine with us and/or stay overnight. The fees are detailed on the meals and lodging pages.
When you register, they will be calculated for you!
Fees for a Prayerbook
Prayerbooks are NOT included with services.
We have created our own special High Holy Days prayerbook. Beautiful artwork plus an abundance of unique and inspirational readings, several hundred pages, all in a loose leaf notebook, make our prayerbook a treasure to be used all year round. Each person owns their own copy.
We are sorry, but due to the cost, $55 each, we cannot make books available for borrowing at services. DON’T FORGET TO BRING YOURS! If you register and purchase your prayerbook by Aug 29th, you will receive your prayerbook when you check in to services.
Each year we print a few extra copies for the late registrants. We may have a few available to sell at the door.

Organization & Sources of Income
B’nai Horin is a 501.c3 religious corporation. Contributions to B’nai Horin our tax deductible. B’nai Horin operates on an annual budget of $125,000. 16% of our income comes from Membership, 75% from High Holy Days and the balance from our Shabbats, Holiday Celebrations and Torah Classes. Other than an annual gift from the Jewish Federation to help with the costs of High Holy Days security, we do not receive any grants from outside sources.
High Holy Day Budget & Costs
Last year it cost over $82,000 to produce the High Holy Days. Peggi Sturm, our Executive Director, serves as our High Holy Days Event Producer and receives a fee for her work. This is a full time job for over 3 months. (It would be less if everyone registered in advance, but she understands that this is just not plausible! We let her dream!) Our on site staff graciously serve for free, but receive services and lodging at no charge. Our wonderful musicians and artists receive token honoraria along with services and lodging. Our child care staff receive honoraria along with services and lodging. Of course, Brandeis Bardin Institute charges us for the facility and the lodging and meals. Plus, we pay for insurance and off duty LAPD officers to ensure our safety.
Scholarships
And, we give scholarships to those who cannot afford the cost of High Holy Days. Last year we gave over $7,000 in scholarships.
What We Get For Free!
We do NOT pay for a permanent facility. Rabbi Stan has served our community for 40 years without a charging a fee. Now we have two Rabbis and we do compensate them! (But no where near what they are worth!) For more information on our Rabbis, please see the About Us Tab.
Regular Budget & Costs
During the year we pay our hosts for the use of their homes and we have administrative costs of running an office, voice mail and regular communications. We have an Event Coordinator and Executive Director who receive nominal fees. It is our goal that each of our programs breaks even or has a small overage! In the end, it is no accident that we break even. (That is, we are “non-profit”!) We try to have enough left over to seed the next year’s events and projects and to grow our scholarship funds.

We are committed to keeping our costs as low as possible while producing high quality events and support.

Our major method of communication is eMail and the Web! Our web site has all the latest information on our events. And, we send everyone an email update bi-weekly. Join us by giving us your email address. Just click “Subscribe” on the left side of this page. We’ll add you to the regular email list.
